This website and blog is meant to be a journal of sorts, which will hopefully serve as a helpful guide to other parents that are considering unschooling their children. My goal is to have an update two to three times a week, but at least once per week and to discuss a broader educational topic at least once every month.
My wife and I have three children, a 17 year old, 3 year old and an almost 1 year old. I’m in a unique position to compare and contrast as my 17 year old has gone through the public school system and we will be unschooling our other two. I will add the caveat that we got custody of my oldest right before the start of their 8th grade year, so that’s when my experience with the public school system really begins.
My plan is to be completely open and honest on this blog. I’ll share my parental failures and successes. What I hope for most of all is that this blog will become helpful to other parents looking to unschool, looking for alternatives to public schooling, or just want to feel that they’re not the only ones in the crazy world of parenting.
I want to engage with my readers and am hoping that people respond with comments and/or questions, or even suggestions for topics that you’d like to read about. So, please feel free to join the conversation!
